Plein Air Painter

6 x 8 oil on canvas (SOLD)

The demonstration for this one will be posted on Expert Village in a couple weeks. It was done from a photo I took during a plein air field expedition to Italy we offered through the Sedona Arts Center with Kathryn Stats and John Budicin teaching. Here is the link to the Video. http://www.expertvillage.com/videos/painting-oils-one-session.htm

It always fascinates me as to why an artist wants to paint another artist at work, or for that matter why they would want to paint a picture of themselves.

I've really enjoyed the Expert Village series. I've been teaching myself some pencil sketching and have just come across an oil studio and have been inspired to dive in and try painting.

Hi Vince, I really enjoyed your videos! I just started painting in oil and have finished 2 little pictures. I love the painting a day idea, it is going to be my new inspiration. I'm curious about the easel you are using in the videos (ECL?) but I can't find one like it. If you know where I might find one please let me know.

Ciao and thanks again for sharing!

Caron, The company that makes the easel I use for plein air painting is EASYL they make larger ones than the one I use, but I find the smaller ones are more stable as there is only one point of support where the palette and easel attach to the tripod. Their easel is very, very flexible with lots of adjustments that are well engineered. Thanks for your comments and good luck with your painting!
